Scotland - Midlothian Licensing Board - Overprovision in Dalkeith area

16 Sep
2014

Midlothian Licensing Board has declared Dalkeith an Overprovision area. The announcement was made at the September meeting of the Board following the earlier Consultation in April and later recommendations in an Overprovision statement which had blamed licensed premises in Dalkeith for a spike in alcohol-related crime and hospital admissions.

The decision now means that with immediate effect there should be a rebuttal presumption that applications for New licences and applications for extensions / additional capacity in Dalkeith will be refused.
